may 11, 1893 - Pullman Strike
Description:
3 workers complained about low wages, poor working conditions, and 16 hour workdays and were fired. This caused a strike and the ARU stopped handling cars which paralyzed the economy. Federal Court sent an interjection to the union to halt the collapse, ending the strike. This caused the ARU to collapse because of the government interference in private enterprise.
