Description:
The Knights of Labor represented the largest group of workers. Unions representing all genders, skill levels, and races could be included in the Knights of Labor. The Knights of Labor were involved in the Great Railroad Strike of 1877 and the Haymarket Riot in 1886. The Knights of Labor were the largest and most powerful union in the last half of the 1800's, and are responsible for the 8-hour work day and abolition of child labor.
