jan 1, 1803 - Dalton's Atomic Theory
Description:
Dalton wanted to test Democritus's theory on atoms and came up with his rules for atoms:
1. Everything is made of tiny particles called atoms
2. All atoms of a given element are identical
3. Atoms of one element are different than atoms of another element
4. The atoms of one element can combine with atoms of other elements to form compounds in simple, whole number ratios.
5. Atoms are indivisible.
He followed the scientific method.
