Description:
This was the most significant naval battle of the Civil War. It was fought between the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia, and though they fought for 3 hours, not significant damage was done because of the iron coating the ships. This famous battle led to all ships being made with ironclads in the U.S., Great Britain, and France.
