Description:
The 264 sentenced Dakota men were brought to a compound in Davenport, Iowa, spending three years there before being exiled. The Dakota staying at Fort Snelling are then put on a steamboat to new reservations. Afterwards, a new law, the Dakota Expulsion Act, repealed the Dakota treaties, and made living in Minnesota for the Dakota illegal. The law has never been repealed since it 1863.
