Description:
Georgia agreed to the Compromise of the 1850 at the Georgia Platform. However, Georgia stated that if Congress attempted to abolish slavery, Georgia would secede from the Union. The conflict came from the fact that this statement contradicted the laws about leaving the Union in the Constitution.
