9h 27min, dec 31, 1992 y - Undersea Laboratory Aquarius
Description:
An undersea habitat (Aquarius) was built in 1993 off the coast of Key Largo, Florida. The lab was built to hold 6 person teams. The scientists would live normally in the lab for 10 days at a time, while working outside for about 6 to 9 hours each day.
This is significant because while it was in operation, it helped revolutionize the study of coral reefs.
