dec 30, 2017 - December 2017 Initiative

Description:

In December 2017, USCPR expanded its tobacco cessation campaign to a neighboring village named Atanjar, and went beyond cessation to educate children and adolescents on the dangers of using tobacco by hosting a sports day at the village school. Sports day is an example of a Village Relations Initiative (VRI), non-sustainable projects that bolster relations with the village. While our ongoing tobacco cessation campaign is considered a RISHI Methodology Project (RMP), sustainable projects that are based on a need in the village and extensive research. The expansion of the cessation campaign to Atanjar was possible with the help of Vagjibhai, a man who had quit tobacco using our alternatives. He is especially motivated to help others quit and became a key part of our project.
