The first world war crippled Russia economically and it caused many deaths. Up to more than a 5 million russians were wounded, 900,000-2,500,00 were dead and around 4,000,000 were prisoners of war. The only people who did well during the war were the poor land owners because when other people were sent off to war then the other people would steal it.
