nov 8, 1915 - Rasputin

Description:

Rasputin was a siberian peasant and although his name was originally Grigory Yefimovich Novykh he earned the name “Rasputin”, which is russian for “debauched one”. Rasputin was first introduced to the royal family in 1905. Later in 1908 Rasputin was invented back to the Palace of Nicholas II and Alexandra to help during one of their son’s bleeding episodes. Rasputin then succeeded to ease the suffering of the boy and before he left he told them that the dynasty and the boy was permanently linked to him. This set the motion of Rasputin’s influence and relation to family and state affairs. In about 1911, Rasputin started to go back to his old habits of wrongdoings outside the palace. But since Nicholas II didn’t want to disappoint anyone or endanger his son, he dismissed the accusations of Rasputin. During WWI Rasputin served as a personal advisor to Alexandra while Nicholas II took personal commands of the forces in 1915. This also included him helping out with military affairs here and there. People then blamed Rasputin and Alexandra for Russia falling apart in every way. Later on Rasputin was murdered by a group of Nobles on December 20, 1916.
