aug 25, 2040 - Age 40: Screening for Ovarian Cancer

Description:

In order to detect Ovarian cancer, it is recommended that I get both a trans vaginal ultrasound and CA-125 blood test. Moreover, TVUS is a test that uses sound waves to look at the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries by putting an ultrasound wand into the vagina, and it can help find a mass in the ovary. CA-125 is a protein in the blood, and in many women with ovarian cancer, levels of CA-125 are high.

The image below shows how the transvaginal ultrasound procedure looks.
