jan 25, 1685 - James II
Description:
James II was king but overthrown in the Glorious Revolution. Everyone disliked James II, as he acted as if there were no Test Act and alienated and antagonized every political party.
James II is more important than his grandfather and namesake, James I, because of his polarizing factors. He did adopt James I’s philosophy that a king of England could make and unmake the law however he pleased, but was much less popular and successful in this.
