Amber Heard may be in serious trouble for reprising her role in the next “Aquaman” movie, that is if the studio is paying attention to the over 1 million people that are protesting her return after Johnny Depp was just axed from his role in the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts” flick. The Change.org petition to “Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2” crossed the threshold of 1 million signatures on Thursday morning, making it one of the biggest public campaigns ever to publicly remove an actor from a film project.
The petition against Heard, who portrayed Jason Momoa’s ally, Mera, in the first DC superhero movie, was originally launched in response to Johnny Depp being removed from his post as Captain Jack Sparrow for Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. However, after Depp revealed he was asked to exit his popular role of Gellert Grindelwald in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter-world spinoff, the war against heard had new life breathed into it.
