Description:
Spanish and American forces managed to capture Rome, the capital of Italy. The Allied forces manage to find and capture Mussolini, the leader of Italy. The loss of Rome disheartens the Italian forces, and the Allied Coalition manage to make large gains against the Axis forces in the weeks afterwards. The city is used a jumping off point for Allied forces moving deeper south into Italy. FDR, calls the capture of the city the "beginning of the end."
