Description:
Japanese forces were fired upon by chinese forces while doing a live fire training exercise near the Chinese border. The two countries already had tense relations, and this incident led to all out war. Called the second Sino-Japanese War, Japan quickly mobilizes, having clearly planned for this outcome. The USSR also invades western China in retaliation for riots that led to Soviet deaths. Despite heavy losses, Japan makes quick progress.
