Grace Hopper starting computing in Harvard when she was invited to work on the first large-scale digital computer and make a method for computers to find positions of ships. Hopper designed the language COBOL and built a program that interprets english code to binary code. This is important because she played a role in the creating Computer Programming. In addition, she built a program that interprets English code to binary code which makes coding convenient.
