After months of rumours and diplomatic back and forth, Rance officially joins the Comintern. The Comintern, or the Communist International, an alliance created by the USSR and its allies. Many in both Germany and Britain are worried by the alliance viewing it as a threat to the delicate balance of power in Europe. The decision is viewed by many American politicians as a sign of terrible things to come, and many in the working class begin to believe that the only way out of the great depression is through socialism. The communist party candidate Earl Browder begins to pick up steam, and Huey Long is martyred by many in America.
