Description:
In the first chapter, we meet Bruno, a 9 year old who's father is a Commandant in the Nazi Army. One day after school, Bruno comes home to find the maid packing up all of his clothes. Bruno gets confused and goes down to talk to his mother. His mother tells him that he will be moving to a new place away from Berlin, where he lived at the time, so they could be with his father at his new job. Bruno becomes upset, because he really deeply loved Berlin, but he must go. He tries to convince his mother to stay at Berlin, where Grandma and Grandpa live, but his mother is not willing to listen. Bruno continues to pack up his things and moves to the place that his mother has called "Out-With"
