dec 6, 1865 - 13th Amendmant Ratified

Description:

On December 6, 1865 the 13th amendment was ratified. In the amendment it said “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” The ratification came 8 months after the war was over and showed how much has changed after the civil war. Slavery ceased to exist in the United States, a big moment to happen in history.
