The Sazaur beholder nation's Hive Mother dies. They had almost exterminated the other beholder nations of their sphere, her death upset their plans to complete this domination. In response, they team up with the Arcane to create an artifact from her body so they can regain their power in the sphere. They discover this artifact requires a massive sacrifice of life; they start building the Ravager, an ultimate weapon, to accomplish this.
