The kansas nebraska act repealed the 36/30 line of the missouri comromise because kansas and nebraska were north of the 36/30 line and the territories could end up voting to have slavery. since people of kansas would be able to vote to decide if their territory was going to be a slave state or not, northern abolitionists and southern slave owners moved to kansas to vote in their favor.
