Nov. 11th, 1918
Description:
Despite being poised for victory at the beginning of 1918, Germany soon felt the burden of fighting a two-fronted war against Russia on one side and the U.S., Britain, and France on the other. Germany soon realized that such pressure was too much and folded into an armistice on November 11th, 1918, in which they agreed to stop fighting. All parties later signed the Treaty of Versailles, formally ending the war.
