may 15, 1869 - National Women's Suffrage Association
Description:
This organization was founded by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. It advocated the creation of a national amendment to grant women's suffrage. It was founded in New York City as a response to a split in the American Equal Rights Association over the idea of women supporting the 15th Amendment or not. There were many progressive ideas during this time and era, including railroad regulations and child labor. Therefore, more people were open to ideas and women were stronger. This motivated others to create their own movements, such as the Niagra Movement.
