Description:
Shortly after 10 p.m., actor John Wilkes Booth entered the presidential box at a Theatre in Washington D.C. and shot President Abraham Lincoln in the back of the head. Lincoln died that day and Booth jumped on stage and escaped through the back door. Booth had hatched a plot to kidnap the president and take him to Richmond, the Confederate capital with several associates. Lincoln had failed to appear at the spot where Booth and the associates waiting, therefore changing the plans the death.
