sep 5, 410 BC - Atomic Hypothesis
Description:
Democritus of Abdera developed the atomic hypothesis. He said that matter could only be cut only to a certain point, at which only the fundamental part of the element (an atom) is left. He said that the entire world is made of atoms. He also thought that the substance was determined by the structure of them. He said they kept moving and their interactions were responsible for all actions.
