may 10, 1773 - The Tea Act
Description:
The Tea Act allowed the East India Company to ship tea from its warehouses in Britain without paying the duty. This resulted in the tea being cheaper and would make colonists purchase it, but also pay the tax on it. The colonists saw this as another “taxation without representation” and did not approve of it which led to the Boston Tea Party.
