Description:
A decision on the Plessy v Ferguson case was made on May 18, 1896, by the Supreme Court. Plessy, a man who was seven-eighths white refused to move to the car reserved for blacks. The ultimate decision was that the states were within constitutional boundaries to institute segregation. The court also held the opinion that segregation itself does not mean that it automatically is discrimination.
