Description:
This 828,000,000 square feet of land was purchased during the Presidency of Jefferson from France, it stretched from the Mississippi River(east) to about the Rocky mountains in the West and The Gulf of Mexico in the south and this piece of land made up about fifteen states. France was very slow with the decision to sell this territory, so president Jefferson sent future president James Monroe to Paris to help aid Paris however before his arrival France surprisingly ask the US if they were interested in purchasing the Louisiana purchase. This purchase was considered one of Jefferson’s greatest achievements.
