may 10, 1773 - Tea Act
Description:
The Tea Act was signed on May 10th, 1773 to give a break on taxes to the East India Tea company because the American colonists had refused to buy the tea, which had resulted in financial difficulties for the company. This is important because the colonists had never accepted the constitutionality of the duty on tea, and the Tea Act rekindled their opposition to it, which led to the Boston Tea Party.
