Operation Barbarossa was when the Axis Powers had started the invasion of Soviet Russia. The Germans had a lot of difficulty when invading and eventually had been forced to retreat.
The Germans had done this because they had wanted to gain as much land and power as possible. They had started to get very greedy in this war.
