oct 31, 1940 - End of the Battle of Britain
Description:
October 31st, 1940 was the end of the Battle of Britain. During the Later months, the Royal Airforce fought the Luftwaffe in the air. During the battle, London was bombed. As a precautionary effort, the British tried to transport children to the countryside, or to remote areas (that were unlikely to be bombed or attacked) for their safety.
The British victory gave the Allies confidence and showed the Nazis could be stood up to. British morale was also improved since they were the first country to stop the Nazi expansion.
