0h 28min, dec 31, 1935 y - Inge Lehmann
Description:
Inge Lehmann was a Danish seismologist and geophysicist. In 1936 she discovered that the Earth has a solid inner core inside a molten outer core. Before her discovery, geophysicists weren’t able to explain this. Her discovery was really important for geology and that is why the discontinuity that separates the outer and the inner core is called the Lehmann discontinuity.
