After 4 years of Civil War, the Confederate army surrendered and the Union army ended the war. Ulysses S. Grant offered surrender items. Officers had to keep their weapons and items. Everyone was allowed to go home if they kept their promise. This ended the Civil War. The processes of reuniting with the USA. Also the abolition of slavery.
