Named after A. Henry Rhind, a 19th centuty archaeologist who brought it to England. This piece contained extensive tables that were used as aids to computation by the Egyptians. This revealed that Egyptians were using basic arithmetic operations, solving linear equations and able to compute or approximated the areas and volumes of geometric shapes.
