may 26, 1940 - Dunkirk
Description:
After the Allies were scattered from the German invasion of France, 340,000 British troops were trapped, stranded in Dunkirk. Thanks to Germany’s cease, the troops were able to go back to their home, albeit with a gloomy attitude from their defeat.
The German army proved their offensive prowess, and their attack let Britain and France know so, firsthand. As a result, Germany grew in size from claiming more European territory, eventually allowing them to target Britain.
