mar 21, 1943 - Hitler Assassination Attempt, 1943 (2)

Description:

Rudolf von Gertsdorff’s Suicide Mission
When the Brandy Bomb failed the collaborators came together to form another bomb attempt. This time Rudolf von Gertsdorff was in charge of giving Hitler a tour of an exhibit of captured Soviet flags and weaponry. Though when von Gertsdorff entered the exhibition he realized the room was far too heavily guarded to plant the bomb. So he then came to know that the only way to get a bomb in was to plant one on his person. So the attempt became a suicide mission. Von Gertsdoff tried his best to stay close to Hitler since his bomb only had a 10 minute fuse on it. But Hitler escaped yet again by leaving suddenly through a side door. Von Gertsdoff then made a mad dash to the bathroom where he defused the bomb with only seconds to spare.
