10h 4min, may 9, 1885 y - Battle of batcohe
Description:
Louis Riel stepped in and asked Dumont to stop using gurellia warfare tactics. He felt Dumont wasn't getting anywhere except angering the Canadian government and causing senseless deaths. Reil asked Dumont to organize his forces to gather at and defend Batoche from a government invasion. Riel didn't understand that Dumont was actually experiencing success because his unorganized tactics were the reverse of what the government soldiers were trained to do. By organizing the forces, Riel gave the NWMP an easy target to attack. 900 government forces surrounded Batoche and the 300 Metis, Cree, and Dakota forces defending the fort. After a few days, Riel surrendered the fort while Dumont fled the country.
