Description:
In 1905 congress banned the use of recreational opium in the United States. A year later in 1906 the House of Representatives passed the Pure Food and Drug act. This act prohibits misbranded or adulterated food and drugs from being sold. This required that all drugs have ingredient labels. This act set up the base of the FDA.
