jan 1, 1347 - The Black Death
Description:
50-90% Mortality rate. This plague killed up to 33% of the population of Britain. It was caused by the population of black rats in the streets of the country. The fleas that feasted on the rats started to bite people, infecting them with Phytophthora Infestans (The Black Death). People believed that the disease spread by air, sadly they were mistaken.
