jan 1, 1453 - Creation of the Printing Press
Description:
Immediate Effects:
- Mass Publication of Literature
- Rapid spread of ideas
- Encouraged a desire to learn
This was the most important event of the 15th century because it allowed for mass publication and spread of ideas, education, and fiction. Without this device, many of the events that involved later in history may not have happened, like the importance of Luther's 95 theses. Also, religion may not have been as widespread as mass publication of the bible was a key part of the spread of Christianity.
