Description:

The "Matanza del Templo Mayor" was the killing of many mexicas that were recruited in the "Templo Mayor" while performing a ritual. The responsible for this masacre was Pedro de Alvarado, known as "Tonatiuh", the Sun by the mexicas. This event was caused by a rumor which said that the mexicas were planning on killing Pedro de Alvarado, but when he heard of it, he ordered to kill them.
While the ritual was going on inside the "Templo Mayor", de Alvarado and his men to close the exits of the temple and began killing the people inside. The results of this were countless deaths.
