Rabbis clustered here and produced scholars, one of them Judah ("The Prince"). Judah led the charge in producing the Mishnah, or a written version of the oral Torah. The Mishnah acted as the life and breath of God, while the Torah acted as the foundation to Jewish belief; you could not have one without the other.
