sep 24, 1643 - Absolutism
Description:
Absolutism was a phrase first introduced with James I of England, but truly was seen for what it was with the reign of Louis XIV of France. Louis believed in his absolute authority and made this power known over all of his ministers and advisors. The idea of absolutism was that a king had complete power that could not be restricted by law, legislature nor religion.
