Description:

Corruption everywhere, scandals, political machines in a local level -> racism became worst in the South, the rising of a political crisis.

Mid 1970's: Many reformers in the country believed that many politics had to be changed. A change in the perception of priorities in politics.

Most reformers wanted first reconstruction to be done, but in 1879's, they started to think that the main priority was to fight against political machines.

Wanted changed to end the Spoil system.
