Description:
King George III of England redefined the Appalachian Mountains as the limit to English settlement in North America after the French and Indian War.
Consequences: The Proclamation frustrated land-speculation companies including men such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin who negotiated to push the line.
The war implied great increase in nationa debt. London redefines how colonies functioned = taxation.
Caused growing dissention in British North America.
