Description:
Non-conformist Puritains led by John Winthrop left England in 1630 and formes themselves as the Massachusetts Bay Company. They were not separatist, they wanted to establish a true Christian community that would be an example to the world. "We should be a city upon a hill, the eyes of all people are upon us".
In about 10 years, population reached 20,000 (the Great Migration).
Strict religious rules, unorthodox beliefs severely punished.
