Frank Parsons was known as a social reformer and the "Father of Vocational Guidance." He established the Vocational Bureau of the Civic Services House to help students transition from school to work. Parsons believed growth and prevention were necessary to social reform. He wrote Choosing a Vocation, which was published one year after his death. Parsons set the framework for the theory of personality traits and how they relate to suitable careers.
