Balance of power politics was an internationol concept that prevented King Louis XIV from taking too much control over Europe during the heart of his reign. The idea of countries uniting against a common enemy laid the groundwork for much of the tension that sparked WWI and in turn WWII. It is more significant than ideas like Centralization as it had lasting impacts on Europe itself.
