The Election of 1828 was a mirror of the Election of 1824 as John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson went against each other once again, Jackson winning this time with both the majority in popular and electoral votes. This election featured more campaigning than ever, monitored public opinion, and used libel and slander to defame candidates.
Importance—This signs the beginning of Jackson's presidency and the reformation of the government.
Connection—Connecting this back to the War of 1812, where Jackson was featured as a prominent war-hero and the Election of 1824 where he had lost the election to JQA.
