Description:
The kinetoscope is an early motion picture device which invented by Thomas Edison, it has been invented in 1889. This device is commonly design for film to be viewed by one individual at a time through a peephole that located at the top of the device. Kinetoscope creates movements from filmstrips and by shining the light over the film with a speed shutter to avoid dizziness if the shutter is slow. In 1889-1892 roll film then developed by Edison's employees William Kennedy Laurie Dickson. The first Kinetoscope demonstration was held at "Brooklyn Institute of Art and Science" in May 9, 1893. In 1895, Edison introduces the Kinetophone, which joined the Kinetoscope with a cylinder phonograph. Many of the projection systems developed by Edison's film in later years would use the Kinetoscope name.
